Radical feminist, street fighter, realistic dreamer. This lyrical documentary, shot in Super 8 and combined with archival images, tells of Judy Rebick’s crucial role in asserting women’s rights over their own bodies in Canada. Judy Rebick lays out the basic tenets of second-wave feminism, advocating for abortion rights and women’s shelters even as a family time bomb looms. The film concludes with a harrowing personal account of a split self and a startling recognition of mental illness as part of creativity. The film had its German premiere at the 2021 Doc.fest in Munich.
