Montreal:
The Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights (RWCHR), in collaboration with Reporters Without Borders (RSF), PEN Eritrea, RWI-70, and the Fritz Bauer Forum of the BUXUS STIFTUNG, is hosting a panel discussion that will focus on 20 years of dictatorship in Eritrea as a case study of the global assault on media freedom by authoritarian regimes.
The discussion will revolve around the Eritrean government’s suppression of fundamental rights and freedoms, including media freedom and the persecution of journalists in Eritrea, as well as the widespread and systematic gross human rights violations related to the case of Dawit Isaak , the world’s longest imprisoned journalist, and his colleagues.
